Two Peas in a Pod

Sweet sisters in a box!
Ada's mission in life is to make Lola laugh. She is successful most of the time...it reminds me of my little sister, Lindsay, and I :)
Lola will grab Ada's hair because she's a baby and doesn't know better, then Ada gets mad. And Ada is a little too rough with Lola because she wants her to get up and run and play with her. You can tell Lola wishes she could!
For the most part, they are sweet with each other and it makes my heart so happy!

Dust Go To Sleep.

I came across the last stanza of this poem today via Kate at Lily Pads. Her whole post about motherhood is great and resonates with me. The poem made me happy and gave me peace about not having the cleanest house all of the time, so I looked up the whole thing. It's beautiful! I don't think I'll ever catch up on laundry as long as there are children in this home! I would much rather rock my babe and make monsters out of play dough than fold clothes though :)

Song for a Fifth Child by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton

Mother, oh mother, come shake out your cloth!
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking!

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby, loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.)

Oh, cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby. Babies don't keep.
