So all the guys that sat around me in math this semester have beards. They are all really GOOD at math, unlike me. One day while wallowing in my self pity, I joked that I would wear a beard on the day of the final to enhance my math capabilities and get a good grade. They didn't think I was serious...
But it WORKED!
