Lola's Ultrasound Pics

Today, at 36 weeks 3 days, I had another ultrasound for Miss Lola Jennie! Everything looks great. She is measuring right on track & her belly is in the 90th percentile. My doctor called it a buddha belly :) They estimated that she weighs 7 1/2 lbs. already, so we are looking at another big baby (Ada was 9 lbs.)!  

She has the cutest little profile:

And I am soooo excited that she will have lots of hair! This picture is of her head, the white spiky stuff that looks like fire is hair :)

Only 24 days until her due date...we can't wait to meet her! 

Lola's Ultrasound Pics

I had the anatomy scan the other day, and everything looks great! She is definitely a girl, has all 4 chambers of her heart, her measurements are right on, has all of her internal organs, and her heartbeat was a strong 153 bpm. 

She was wiggling around a ton and it looked like she was talking up a storm. I even saw her tongue, it was so cool! Here she is with her mouth open:

This pregnancy is flying by, it's amazing how busy and preoccupied another child keeps you. Ada pats my belly and says baby, then she lifts my shirt looking for where I'm hiding the baby doll! She loves babies so much and is always trying to hug and kiss em, I can't wait to see her with her little sister. 

Ada Has An Announcement!

 She's as excited as we are! 

 

 Here's the little gummy bear today at 10 weeks. He or she was wiggling and bouncing so much that the ultrasound tech had a hard time getting a good heart rate reading! It was so fun to see it rolling and dancing around in there. Makes all of the sickness worth it. Baby #2 looks perfectly healthy and the growth is right on track. He or she will be here in August! My due date is the 4th, but if my first pregnancy is any indicator - we'll just say the 13th instead. 

We're Having A Baby, My Baby & Me!

It's true...Matt & I are going to be parents!
We told my Nana yesterday with an ultrasound picture and a great-grandma poem in a frame. She opened it, re-read the poem, looked at the picture, opened the card, looked up at me and asked, "Is this an announcement?!" I nodded, then she said, "Everyone, look! Matt and Kara are going to have a baby!" And showed the ultrasound picture to everyone. It was perfect :) Bobba said, "I thought that was a cat!" It was hilarious!
We then proceeded to call the Drakes in Kansas and Georgia to share the wonderful news. My mom, dad, sister, and brother, along with Matt's immediate family, have known since March when we found out. We decided to wait to tell everyone else once we were in the safe zone just in case I miscarried. We also wanted to tell Nana in a big way :) She told me that last week she had a dream of me with a baby, but didn't tell me because she knows how bad I want to be a mom. She called this morning and said she could hardly sleep last night because she was thinking about this baby. She thanked me for making her a great-grandma! I am three months along and the due date is November 24th.
