A Peek Inside My Head...

So I was cleaning out my binder to make room for my new classes this semester/quarter.
I found this in my French notes:
If you look at the date, you can see the semester was almost over. So I was a bit antsy!
It made me laugh...I have always drawn these weird cartoon thingys. I think it started in church when I was little to make my brother and sister laugh. My aunt Liz named them Goobers on Sunday when I made one with everyone's name for place cards.
This one was Matt's favorite:

He's saying, "Bup bup bup". Matt can't stop saying it either. He says he loves the faces I make to describe my animals...if they can be classified as animals! Lindsay wants me to draw them for her kids rooms in the future. Hopefully they don't scare the poor kiddos! :)

Area Rug!

Been wanting one...found this for $50!
It totally makes the area feel more homey. And now our feet won't get cold when we watch movies :)
The same one is on PB for $329!!!

Hooray for Craigslist!

Wrapping Up Summer...

On the 9th we went to Hurricane Harbor! It was SO FUN!
Chris Drake (our cousin), Lindsay, Me, Matt, & Marc (my father-in-law) all went.
This is our "silly" picture...check out Marc's face!
We had so much fun, my favorite is the giant Tornado!
...
Then this past Saturday, Matt and I went surfing at Pismo!
Excited to go! I think Matt looks SO cute in his wetsuit!! It cracks me up, he's like a little kid in his pajamas.
Pretty sure I was jumping around saying something like, "I'm like a seal! I'm so rubbery and warm!"
Sweet boy waxing my board for me :)
It was a perfect day, not too big (for me, Matt could've stood bigger), no wind, glassy...I'm getting better! I do have a gnarly bruise on my upper butt/thigh from my fins hitting me on one wipeout though. I'll spare you all the pain of a picture ;)
After we were done surfing, we met my mom, sister, and Wiberg at Avila Beach...it was beautiful!
Matt overheard some tourists from France; he played frisbee & spoke French with them, they were fun! I told the little girl she was pretty in my elementary French, but she understood me! She was adorable - check out the curls (and Thibault's shirt)!
Then we left the beautiful beach when the sun was setting and headed back to Pismo for some fabulous Splash Cafe clam chowder!
Yummmm. It was a good day. Goodbye summer...until next year :(

Lindsay Is Here!!!

And so is Thomas Bird! He met us at Avila Beach on Friday. Thomas and I met when we were 14 years old at Education Week!
Look how little we were! Can you tell which two we are?
We kept in touch through the years, then met up when I moved to Provo. He was one of my close friends that kept me sane while living through those awful winters! He's thinking about moving here...

how could you not love this area?! I'm a little bias, but seriously. We're spoiled.
Lindsay flew in from Utah on Thursday night. She is going to UVU and Interning at KUTV in Salt Lake. She loves it! I'm hoping she comes and works at KCOY next summer!
Lindsay brought the umbrella, of course. I joined her for a picture...then back into the sun :)
I have to soak up the rays before school and work start on Monday!
Matt and Sean came up and met us for the Farmer's Market Avila has on Fridays. We had yummy fish tacos and, with a little hinting, my sweet hubby got these gorgeous lilies for me :) We wanted crepes for dessert, but didn't see Sarah & John's stand! :( So we settled for mini doughnuts instead.

Chocolate Surprises!

Thanks, Martha! These Surprise Cookies are so yummy!
Perfect for a hungry hubby that just came home from work.
Marshmallows + chocolate = always great!
Covering the 'mallows with chocolate frosting...mmmm :)
"What a pleasant surprise!" - Matthew Miller

This is a definite keeper. I ended up with way more than the recipe says!
After the first day, if you put them in the microwave for about 10 seconds they are perfect and gooey!

A Girl Can Dream...

I want this chair of ours
to be reupholstered with this gorgeous PB fabric
for a result something like this!
(minus the ottoman).

Someday :) Anyone know somebody that can make this happen for cheap? I can't/don't/won't sew...so doing it myself is out of the question!
