The other day I came home from work and noticed a bag sitting by the door.
I looked inside, and here is what I found:
All of the things necessary for a boy to have a great day at work.
Sadly, the boy had left the treasure trove of goodies at home.
After a phone call and a discussion about the amount of gasoline it would take to get the bag to him,
he decided he would go buy lunch instead.
Something about the careful preparation...the movie inside the bag with the food...the fact that after all that he forgot it...
so precious!
I love my little cutie :)

Bush Girls' Letter to the Obama Girls
I watched this on Sue Spark's blog, and it had me wiping away the tears like Meredith at the end. So sweet and thoughtful of them to do. It's important to remember that our leaders have families too, it makes them more human instead of targets of constant criticism.

DISNEYLAND!
For Christmas, my mom gave us kids 4-day passes to Disneyland and California Adventure!
We all went on Dec. 29th and 30th, and have until July to use the other two days.
It was so much fun. Enjoy the pictures!
...
Lindsay and Sean anxious to get in the park!
L for Lindsay! (Nobody else's names worked...)
SEAN!
TOWER OF TERROR! Best ride ever!!! My mom screamed so much on this one...it was hilarious.
Paradise Pier!
Johnson family New Year Card 2009!
CLOSE-up!
This picture is awesome...I have no idea what I was so angry/animated about. Matt caught it though - whatever it was!
Being a "homeless child" on the swings as Lindsay called me.
The Main Street Electrical Parade!!!!
It's at CA Adventure now.
The USC Marching Band was at Disneyland right before their big game vs. Penn State.
We walked behind them down Main St. and felt like part of the parade!
Always entertained - even while waiting in line for Pirates of the Caribbean :)
This little guy was so cute...Matt was going sneak-attack-paparazzi on him...so he only got half the face. But you get the idea.
Me saying, "That little guy is adorable! Look at his face paint!"
The beautiful Christmas decorations were still up.
Our Mickey Mouse shaped Beignets...yum :) We had Monte Cristos as well (thought of you Kandie!), but ate them too fast to get a picture.
In front of the gorgeous castle!
"Put your arms up and smile!"
Stoked that we walked right onto this one!
Space Mountain!!!!
Disneyland is always so magical, no matter how old I am.
I can't wait until we have little kids and get to watch them enjoy the magic :)

Where's the Phone?
Nana & Bobba go to the LA Temple to serve the first week of each month.
I was over at their house last month and went in the garage to get some candy.
Check out what I found in the food storage!
Hey - at least it's alphabetized, right? :)
I told them when they got home and we all had a good laugh!

Grades
I took 7 classes last semester. 21 credits in 4 months.
While getting up at 6:30 every morning to be at work by 8 AM. It was crazy!
Final grades posted, and I got 4 A's and 3 B's.
Not to toot my own horn or anything...but beep beep!!!
I'm just a little proud of myself :)
I thought for sure there'd be a C in there somewhere!

Beach in January.
Last Thursday was such a beautiful day! I came home from work and checked the weather at Avila Beach. It was 85 degrees!
I quickly shaved my legs, grabbed my beach bag and camera & was on my way!
I love California :)
I picked Matt up from work in Grover and we went to Splash in Pismo Beach for dinner. Best clam chowder in the world!
It was a good day.

CBEST
I PASSED! :)
And I didn't even use a study guide like this.
I found out on Thursday that I can begin subbing in the Santa Maria-Bonita School District! They are in desperate need of good subs, and they are working with me since I'll have my Bachelor's by the end of the year. I will be able to make more money, and have the flexibility of not working on the days when I have big projects due in my classes.
I registered (from the beach ;) ) to take the test on Saturday the 17th. I went in and they took my picture, fingerprints, and wouldn't let me take my water bottle in. :( I raised my hand to have a break and they took my ID, fingerprinted me again, and the process was repeated to go back in. I couldn't even wear my watch inside!
They handed me my unofficial results at the end of the test....and I had no idea what they meant. I had to get online on my phone once in my car and look at how the thing was scored! They didn't have a percentage or anything. Just a 65 and a 55. So I know for sure I passed the Reading and Math sections, now my essays have to be scored and I will find out for sure if I passed the whole thing. With my scores though - I technically could get a 2 on my writing and pass the whole thing :)
The cool thing about the CBEST is that once you take it, it stays with you the rest of your life! I never have to take that test again!!!! Woo-hoo!

Christmas!
Here's our cutie little tree (that my mom picked out) and our pillow Lindsay gave us last Christmas. I love decorating for Christmas!
My mom's beautiful tree (that I picked out) and all of the presents!
Sandy getting up to give us Christmas morning kisses.
Sean's here! The festivities can begin!
Sandra Lucille guarding the gifts like every year. I shook the box of treats we wrapped up for her and told her that was her gift. When I came out a few minutes later, she had her little paws on top of it! I don't know if she was being protective or about to rip it open!
These are all of the pictures I took on Christmas day...pretty sad! We are so rushed everywhere we go that I don't even think to take pictures.
We started the morning by opening our gifts to each other at our place.
Then we went to my moms and opened gifts and stockings there.
Then I made rolls for the ham lunch at Nana's (the same fabulous ones I made for Thanksgiving).
We then went over to Nana's with the cousins...everything was so yummy!
Then we had to leave early to go down to Matt's Aunt's in Santa Barbara.
From there we went to Matt's Great Aunt's house, had more food, and I held Gray most of the time (:D yes!).
Then up to Lompoc we went with the Millers to open gifts and play games.
WHEW!
By the end of the night, we are always wiped out...but feel very loved & popular! ;)

Uniform?
We went to see Irving Berlin's White Christmas at PCPA on Dec. 20th. It was the perfect thing to get us in the Christmas mood! It was a wonderful production, my favorite part was singing along to carols :)
When Bobba came to pick us up...look at how he and Lindsay were dressed!
I was worried there was a specific uniform you had to wear to get in...
Bobba is one of Sandy's absolute favorites.
Look at the adoration in her eyes!

Gray's 1st Birthday!
Okay, this was on Dec. 20th...but I'm trying to catch up!
...
My beautiful sister, Lindsay, accompanied me down to Lompoc for my nephew's birthday party.
Auntie Kara brought her new camera and caught Gray with lots of cute faces :)
Gray loved the card we brought him. He said it tasted great!
This is my favorite shot of the day; he was looking up at his momma, Kandie. :)
Favorite #2...Travis and Gray have just recently become acquainted since Travis was on his mission in Russia when Gray was born. I think it's safe to say they've hit it off pretty well. Look at those smiles!
Gray has recently discovered his tongue and LOVES to show it off.
Watching Kandie try to feed Gray some of his birthday cake was hilarious!
Do I eat this?
Not a fan!
I can't believe this little guy is already one. It seems like we were just at the hospital welcoming him into this world! We love having Ryan and Kandie here in town so we can spend more time with their family.
I mostly love that Gray likes to cuddle with me :)
