Updates

We finished our childbirth class! Matt got to play doctor during one class, I was his assistant. Good times. He had a freak out moment where he had the mask on and needed it off immediately, it was so funny!
We had our tour of the hospital and it made the reality of everything sink in! We are going to have a BABY! Seeing those tiny little newborn diapers and hats they put on them was crazy.
The nursery is coming along nicely! Here is Matt installing the ceiling fan. I'll do a separate post once the touch-up paint is done and frames are hung on the walls :) It's my favorite room! Love my little handyman.
We went to the LA Temple yesterday for our Ward Temple Day. It was a beautiful day! We took a picture under the wedding tree, here I am at 35 weeks 5 days.
I had to post this picture of Bobba! He forgot his glasses at lunch and had to wear Mommy's. Isn't he stylin? Haha!

I've cut back on subbing, I'm only doing half days here and there. I worked a full day last week and it was too much! I came home and crashed, not to mention the hugeness of my feet after being on them all day...hello swelling!
That's about it for now, I'll do a post tomorrow for my 36 week mark!

Happy Birthday Matt!

Before:

AFTER!

The area rug was originally $129.99 at Target...I got it for $30!!!!! Matt always says the tile makes his feet cold in the morning, so I got it for him (maybe a little for me, too).

I surprised him with a healthy dinner. He's been working out and eating healthy diligently for a month and a half now. So instead of my typical comfort food, I went light. On Matt's Birthday menu:
Lime-Marinated Broiled Salmon, Cucumber Watercress Salad, and Whole Wheat Bread from Albertson's Culinary Circle brand (it tasted homemade)!

The birthday boy approves!
It was literally 90 degrees on Friday, so I had to make food that wouldn't heat up our house more. This was perfect because I only had to have the broiler on for a few minutes.

Instead of baking a cake, we had sorbet for dessert. It was nice on such a warm night!

Saturday we went down to Los Angeles for our Stake's Temple Day. It was so peaceful. No protesters...and uplifting words from the new Temple President to start our day off. It was wonderful to be spiritually strengthened. Afterwards, we went to Sprinkles and walked down Rodeo Dr. I loved looking at the fancy stores, Matt loved seeing the fancy cars! We saw Ferraris, Bugattis, Rolls-Royces, and tons of Benzies.

Here was the view on our drive to IKEA. There were so many fires on our drive! I hope that everyone is safe and the fires are contained soon.
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating. I am so grateful for my selfless husband and the wonderful man he is! Happy Birthday baby!!

Drake Family Cruise 2008!

Warning....tons of pictures :)

We had such a blast! All 24 of us together on one boat! Watch out!!!!

We had the perfect start to the family reunion by going to the Los Angeles Temple.
My cousin, David Sterling Drake, has been called to serve as a missionary in the Kobe Japan Mission. It was such a sweet experience to go through the temple with him for the first time. We are SO proud of you David!
Nana & Bobba with their newest endowed grandchild

All of the Preisthood holders in our family that went through with David
(from left to right) Uncle Devin, Uncle Dave, Bobba, David, Aunt Colleen's brother Carl (David's uncle), Matt, and Uncle Dana (David's dad)
        . . .
We stayed in the temple apartments that night and had so much fun catching up with all of our family! We got dinner from an amazing market, Bristol Farms (do you go there Erinn? I'm jealous it's so close to you!)...it's like Trader Joe's but more gourmet.
Then it was off to the cruise!
Matt and I in beautiful Cabo.
Wearing Uncle Devin's ginormous hat while he was riding :)
We hung out on the beach this day and rode wave runners...so nice!
I love getting dressed up :)
First formal night

Nana reserved the conference room for us on Sunday and we had our own Sacrament & Testimony Meeting. Then we had it again on Monday night for Family Home Evening, and then other days for us to play games. It was awesome! People kept poking their heads in to see what was going on :)
We were posing in our smart casual outfits. This is not dumb casual! "I have many leather bound books..."
Sean's face was priceless on the zip line!
Canopy tour Puerto Vallarta!
Yes, that is my fabulous 75-year-old grandpa! He came on the zip line with all of us kids. He is actually the one who made me want to go; he did it back in '05 and said it was so much fun that I had to do it this time around!
The whole Drake bunch on the last formal night. What a good lookin' family huh?
Mommy and all of her kids :)

Prom pose :)

We had such a great time with our family. We ate a ton, danced, sang, relaxed, swam, played, laughed...it's times like these when you realize what is truly important in life. I am so grateful for such a wonderful family that I am sealed to for time and all eternity! We are so thankful for Nana and Bobba and their perfect examples. Thank you for a perfect week!

On this day, two years ago...

Matt proposed to me! :)

To celebrate, we went to the Los Angeles Temple with my mom for Stake Temple Day.
It was a beautiful day that reminded us to take spiritual breaks and recharge.
It's amazing how wrapped up I can get in the hustle bustle of everyday life, forgetting the big picture and what is truly important. I love going to a place where I can let the cares of the world melt away, remember that my Heavenly Father loves me, and feel that I am on the right path back to Him.
I love this place.
Posing under the Wedding Tree!
On the way home, we stopped for a Valentine's dinner in Santa Barbara.
Mmmm Palazzio!
We're pretty sure our server really wanted the fish platter to be in the picture more than us.
