Winna Winna Chicken Dinna!

Who can tell me what movie that's from? :)
I made this salad for dinner last night. It's a perfect summer meal since you don't have to turn on the oven. It's called an Asian salad, but I think the cilantro lime dressing makes it taste more like a Mexican one. I used my trusty food processor to make the dressing...I am always amazed at how fast that thing pulverizes food!
The red peppers (which are sweet -  not hot), cabbage, and cashews give this salad lots of nice crunch. I used the Albertson's rotisserie chicken with the lime marinade which went perfectly!

Matt & I both had the leftovers for lunch today we liked it so much.

And for dessert....virgin strawberry daiquiris! YUM :)

Crab Legs!

The Jetty has all you can eat crab legs on Tuesday nights! $20. So cool.
Here Matt and I are on a date enjoying some.

My imitation of a crab...Mr. Krabs?

Matt being normal :)
I love how the bibs say CRAB on them...just in case you forgot what you're eating!

One weekend, two movies.

Polar opposite movies, that is!
Thursday night Matt, Chris Drake, his buddy Ryan, and I all camped out for the 12:01 AM showing of The Dark Knight!
We got there at 9:30 PM. Brought our In-n-Out (complete with huge Dr. Pepper to stay awake), lawn chairs, phones, blankets...and I even got a picture with the Joker!

This movie was INCREDIBLE. It did not disappoint! Heath Ledger was amazing as everyone has been saying. I definitely think he will get an Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker, although it is too bad he is not alive to enjoy the success of this movie. Christian Bale is the perfect Batman, in my eyes. Ahhh Cowboy from Newsies...I've loved him since I was a little girl :) It broke the record for most money taken in by a midnight showing: $18.4 million!
Then on Friday, my mom and I went and saw Mamma Mia!!!!! It is SO FUN!
My mom has seen the play on Broadway and in Vegas, so she had high expectations. She says the movie met them! The characters are all so colorful and fun. The actors look like they really had fun making this movie!
I have the soundtrack, so I was singing along to the whole movie. It was so hard not to get up and dance in the aisles!!
Everyone does such a fabulous job acting, singing, and dancing. Pierce Brosnan, bless his heart, tries to sing. Poor guy. Meryl Streep is brilliant, it's hard to believe that she is the same woman who plays in The Devil Wears Prada!
I want to go to Greece now and dance to ABBA music.
I LOVE good movies! I would go see both of these again in a heartbeat.

Bridal Photo Shoot

I did a photo shoot a couple of months ago for a photographer down in Ventura. Her name is Kelly Segre, you can check out her site on my blog roll.

These are some of my favorite shots.
It was so fun to get into my wedding dress again...it still fit (YES!)

Celebrating All Weekend

Friday morning at 5:45 AM Matt and I went to wait in line for two of these!
Here's my cute nephew Gray (he's so modern at 6 months old) and my father-in-law Marc waiting in line with us. I refuse to have my picture taken that early.
I absolutely LOVE mine! It took a while to get it activated with Apple's systems being overloaded, but since it's been up and running I haven't put it down. My mom was teasing us on Sunday, Matt and I were completely absorbed in our phones and not even paying attention to each other. "Nice anniversary gifts! You guys are ignoring each other!" Haha
One of my favorite things about this incredible phone: it is a LIGHT SABER!!!! How much cooler can you get than that?! Yes, I realize that I am a nerd. And yes, I have been Princess Leia for Halloween before. Buns and all.
Diana sent us chocolate-covered strawberries for our anniversary :) YUM! Thanks ma-in-law!
Matt snuck one before I could even take a picture!
. . .
On Saturday we went down to Santa Barbara for the French Festival!
This weirded me out. They put their country's flag on the dumpster! Hmm???
Matt eating a Nutella crepe
Me loving my Nutella and strawberry crepe!
Trying to perfect the Mona Lisa smile...
Gotta love SB and the crazy bums!
Matt getting the guillotine treatment
The Millers & Parkers @ Le Tour Eiffel
Both of our hubbies served their missions in France, so it was fun for them to talk to people in French. While Tiana and I talked to each other. :)

Later that night we babysat the Jesters.
This is their baby boy, I am in love with him!
I want my babies to look like him :)
Matt playing Wii with the boys
Joshy's adorable little face! This picture makes me so happy...such a cutie pie!
Mikayla loved playing with my camera, I have 20 more pictures just like this :) Every time she'd see the picture she'd laugh and go, "It's me!!"
. . .
Sunday for brunch Matt made us true French toast! Yummy.
Monday night Nana & Bobba took us out to Olive Garden for dinner, but I forgot to take pictures. They are the perfect example of a wonderful marriage. I hope Matt and I are still as much in love as they are in 50 years!
Thanks to everyone who made our 2nd Anniversary a great one!

Two Year Wedding Anniversary!

Matt and I have been married for two years!
It has flown by. I feel like we just got married! What a wonderful two years it has been.
I love returning to the temple with my eternal companion. I love seeing where we were married and remembering the promises we made there. I feel like such a lucky girl to have found the perfect man for me!
I remember a Singles Ward bonfire at Port San Luis where Matt was playing his guitar. I was singing along to Sweet Home Alabama and dancing around the fire. After that night, my sister and friends were all saying, "You and Matt should date! You guys are so cute together!" I hadn't really considered him since he was leaving on a mission in 3 months, but I realized that I wanted my new best friend to be more. And here we are!
Basically we laugh at each other's lame jokes all day long. He is so patient and understanding of my stubborn nature. He has learned from a great example, his father. I am so glad that I have my Matty by my side for everything this life hands us. Finals weeks, hard classes, jobs, graduations, kids...here's to forever babe!

Summertime = Projects!

I FINALLY painted our nasty TV stand! Wahoo!!!
Doesn't it look great? I forgot to take a "before" picture, but humor me here. Tell me it looks amazing. :)

Hooray for time to get those projects checked off the list!

Eric Allen:

this is for you!!!
That's right...Firestone Grill's tri-tip sandwich :) Wish you were here!
My dad's most favorite place to eat. Of all the restaurants he's been to all over the world, Firestone wins!
Oh how I love their sandwiches!

Matt's a fan too. YUM!
